Killara Cup History

 

First Played in 1940 as an event open to members of Group 1 clubs. Best scratch score over 36 holes. Changed in 1969 to best individual 18 holes scratch score in conjunction with the Killara Shield.

 

 

Killara Shield History

Provided by the Club in 1920 to the NSW Golf Association for foursomes gross stroke competition between two pairs nominated from each group 1 club. It is the oldest event on the NSW Golf Association calendar. It was changed in 1968 to an Eisenhower Cup type event between teams of four from each Group 1 club, aggregate of best three gross scores from each team count. At the same time it was combined with the Killara Cup.

2010 

 

A full field took to the course comprising of 81 players, 66 of these players were of a 4 handicap or below and 11 clubs represented for The Killara Shield.

 

The event was a great success with the following results recorded on the day:

Runner Up: John Small (Killara GC)

Nett Winner: Gary Cole (Killara GC)

A full field took to the course comprising of 98 players, 74 of these players were of a 4 handicap or below and 17 clubs represented for The Killara Shield.
