International Challenge 2020

Sunday 19th January saw the battle between the defending champions, the Internationals, take on Australia. Wet weather over the Friday and Saturday put the match at risk but the weather held and 114 players took part. Congratulations to Tony & Sylvia Percival and Terry & Lesley Little for captaining the teams again. The course played extremely well and everyone got around in 4hrs 30min. In the end the Australian team ran away with a comprehensive win 19.5 matches to 9.5.

It was very interesting to putt out using a hockey stick. I’m sure many of us left the first putt extremely short of the hole. I believe you can all thank Peter Shepherd for the bright idea. Closest to the line on 18 and closest the pins were also part of the day. The best Australian score on a CB was Coralie Mansfield and Stephen Browne with 46 points and the International best pair just happened to be Ladies Captain Jenny Boustred and Captain Tony Wray with 45 points.

The Internationally themed buffet lunch was delicious and thanks to everyone for contributing to the day.
