Hole 18

A memorable and very strong finishing hole that is really about a very well struck second shot and excellent and creative short game play around the green.  A bunkerless drive to a modest width of fairway will see no trouble, but it is the big uphill approach shot to the elevated and mainly blind putting surface  sitting below the clubhouse that requires a shot of accuracy of both angle and length.

This is not a hole to leave short on the second shot,  as two bunkers to the right of the green, and a steep apron in the front of the green are best avoided by playing long or laying up short left.  Shots played long towards the tightly mown slope that rises above the left of the green will see balls roll and feed back down to the green and across  to the pin,  particularly if the pin is on the right half of the green. The green is generously wide but not deep and the distinct flat areas of the green and connecting slopes reward really good putting skills.  A tough finishing hole for the round.
